Methane is responsible for about 1 in 3 degrees of global warming and receives less than 2% of climate investment. Food waste rotting in landfills is one of its biggest sources. When it rots, it releases methane: a gas 81× more powerful than CO₂ over 20 years.* Keeping the waste out stops that gas from ever forming.
